I heard that there is some homemade remedy for that. If you rap a warm, wet towel around the 360, it should warp the motherboard back into place. Alternatively, you could buy a PS3 and have the added benefit of blu-ray.
My girlfriend sometimes gets the red ring, just wait a week or so it will go away.
